It's always so sad when a child is killed...a certain culture seems to have contributed this time. This kind of thing just gets to me as I have a young son.

I don’t have any respect for “fathers” who walk around the country knocking up everyone they meet. Sounds like the guy who thought he was the dad went nuts when he found out otherwise. Bad deal all the way around.

Agreed- i prayed for the young guy tonight at mass and prayed for Peterson....moving forward i think i’ll just stick to the little guy of this is true (probably not the holiest of reasons but....)
If he’s just meeting a two year old or the first time, and wasn’t a POW, that’s not his son. He’s not the father.
The boy may be his spawn, but he isn’t his son.
I have doubts to the parentage. If Peterson was really the father, his mother would have sued for child support long ago.
But he can run with a football so it’s OK if he is a irresponsible and absent father.
Another case of cultural failure. The sperm donors like Peterson are more interested in keeping their children a secret than establishing any meaningful relationship with them.

Now, to my main point - the most dangerous place for a child in America is in the home of his/her single mother, if she has a boyfriend.
If children were being assaulted, raped, and murdered by their father’s girlfriends at ONE-TENTH the rate of the reverse, single fatherhood would be illegal and men who allowed this to happen would be in jail.
This will not turn around until these women are indicted for and convicted of felony murder, or the equivalent. THIS CRIME HAPPENS IN AMERICA EVERY SINGLE DAY, and nothing ever happens to the truly guilty party - the irresponsible sluts who set the crime in motion by their behavior.
And yes, of course, the “boyfriends” should be executed, by the most drawn-out and painful method that can be conceived of, so please don’t come back at me on that score.
Very young children whose mother is cohabiting with a “boy friend” are at great risk of severe injury or death at the hands of that man. Too often such children are deemed nuisances, intolerable competitors for the time and attention of the female sex object.
I do not understand why the woman whose child is victimized by her erstwhile male companion and bed partner-of-the-week (or month) is not held in some degree legally culpable.
The people on this thread are so full of fury & judgement, and don’t have all the facts.
