The hymen can be torn in ways other than intercourse. For example, heavy gym workouts, horseback riding and the use of tampons can rupture a hymen. Some of them already have holes in them anyway, that's the way they formed. Would you like an innocent girl to lose her life via an "honor killing" due to this crude method of ascertaining virginity?
