Harry Reid makes budget offer to Mitch McConnell

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has privately offered Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell a deal that would reopen the government until mid-to-late December while extending the U.S. debt ceiling until next year, according to several sources familiar with the talks.

The proposal would set up a framework for larger budget negotiations with the House over the automatic sequestration spending cuts and other major deficit issues, the sources said. Moreover, Senate Democrats are open to delaying Obamacare’s medical device tax and a requirement that those receiving Obamacare subsidies be subject to income verification — but they would have to get something from Republicans in return, sources said.

Desperate to stop a short term debt imit bill from the House IMO.

Sounds as if they’re open to delaying the requirement for income verification but not the subsidies (freebies) themselves. And this is billed as a concession? Oh, and wasn’t that medical device tax supposed to be one big way they were planning to PAY for this fiasco???

They should make no deal that extends a raise in the debt ceiling past next August. Harry wants it pushed past the elections for obvious reasons. [Not so] secretly, so do the RINOs because the issue causes them too much pain.

The “deal” is: “Heads I win, tails you lose.” The Republicans think that is a deal.

Tax hikes. The rats want even more money, confiscated from people who get up and go to work every day, so they can continue buying the votes of their moocher base.

Is it possible for the House to pass a debt limit increase for the amount of interest on the debt only, and to specify that it be spent specifically for that matter? Non essential government to remain shut with individual departments approved for funding as is.

If one was inclined to extend the debt ceiling, extending it past the Christmas/New Year holidays is the correct method to employ. Stick to your guns house pubbies. No money until you get what you want. Starve the B@stards.

An “offer” from Harry Reid is something like being jumped by a gang of thugs in broad daylight, a black sack thrown over your head, and being bound up in the back of a van which rushes away from the scene, to arrive at some point a short while later, where the captive is frog-marched into a darkened room with one hanging light overhead, and is securely tied to a chair that is screwed down to the floor. The black sack is removed, leaving the captive staring into the bright light at close range, when he realizes there is a 1911 Pistol .45 ACP pressed against his temple. Then Harry Reid comes in the room, and in his best “Commissioner” impression, says, “Now we shall negotiate.”

Sounds like a level playing field, all right.

This is a press ploy to create the illusion that the Demorats are not moving the goal line again.

Here— buy this house for $500,000. then after you pay me — we will negociate. Thell Reid to go to hell. NO FUNDING OF OBAMACARE and reduce spending or you wreck the economy.

Harry is one person I could hit with a baseball bat till the bat breaks. In case you haven't figured out, I despise him.
The chosen ONE is another along with everyone in his administration.
I now have the Popeye syndrome "All I can stands and I can't stands NO MO."
