Meanwhile, my 93 year old, arthritic mother refuses to ride in an electric cart while shopping. She says she “doesn’t want people to think she’s lazy”.
They worked their a%$es off and tolerated a ton of bourgeois xenophobia on their way to assimilation. My grandfather retired at 67 THEN took a job at the local coke plant... that is 'COKE' as in steel plant... a dirty, dangerous and hard job. He WALKED to work daily and was well known to the police, who would give him a lift in bad weather!!!
Within a generation all the grandchildren were graduated from college and the whole family was on its feet.
The last thing any of us wants to do is revert to the status of ‘victim’. (BTW-bourgeois xenophobia dies real hard and it AIN'T a strictly American character flaw... it's all over the world.... !)
I always enjoy Stossel.
Oh! I am a victim too! When I was young I was forced to play girls basketball by the old rules of divided floor, and exclusive roles either defense of offense. Since I played backyard BB with my brother, that was unfair. Can I claim to be a victim too? Boo Hoo, I WANT TO BE A VICTIM TOO.
God doesnt make victims...

for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” The LORD Jesus Christ, Luke 10:19
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (The LORD Jesus Christ, John 16:33
