Rouhani: Israel Trying to Sabotage Our Diplomacy Efforts

Iran’s president on Sunday blamed Israel for trying to sabotaging his country’s efforts to get closer to the West.

According to PressTV, President Hassan Rouhani said the Islamic Republic’s “active diplomacy” has slowed down the increasing pace of illegal sanctions against the country.

“The administration’s diplomatic initiative in constructive interaction with the world ... has both made the [world] governments praise the democracy in Iran and halted the growing process of [imposing] sanctions [against the country],” the Iranian president was quoted as having said.

“Iran’s active diplomacy has taken the initiative and attracted world public opinion ... and is moving step by step toward removing the obstacles to the Iranian nation’s progress by consolidating Iran’s inalienable nuclear rights,” Rouhani said.

At the same time, Rouhani accused Israel of trying to obstruct the process of understanding and interaction between Iran and the international community.

“Throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution, we have witnessed that whenever the Islamic establishment gets close to a success in the international political scene, the Zionist Israelis commit acts of sabotage ... inside and outside [of Iran],” Rouhani noted, according to PressTV.
