The World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva claims to represent and serve 345 churches worldwide. What has it done to help the persecuted churches in Iraq, Syria and Egypt? Or the flood of Syrian refugees into Jordan and Lebanon? Answer: it has devoted the whole of 2013 to promoting a World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel (September 22-28). That is, it has poured its Swiss francs into stirring up the one corner of the area that is currently almost calm.
The excuse for this absurd imbalance is that the WCC has maintained for decades, and insists on maintaining against all evidence, that the churches of the Middle East have no other real problem than the Palestinian issue. Earlier this year (May 21-25), the WCC held a conference on Christian Presence and Witness in the Middle East near Beirut, Lebanon. Its closing statement proclaimed: Palestine continues to be the central issue in the region. Resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine in accordance with the UN resolutions and international law, will greatly help resolving the other conflicts in the region.
Given the misery that has overwhelmed Christians in the wake of the so-called Arab Spring, who in the world still believes such nonsense except inveterate Jew haters?

There must have been a gay-pride event in there somewhere....
Today’s church elders are in general not used to confrontation at all. This is perhaps an unavoidable side effect of living in a relatively civilized society for so many generations. It is so much easier to continue the myopic exercise of denial and complacency than to draw a hard line in the sand backed up with real consequence.
They have no problem backing up the “Palestinians” in spirit, this WCC.
What has the World Council of Churches (WCC) done for Christians?
WCC has collected funds from all 345 suckers/congregations.
WCC is, in one sense, a Good Shepherd in that is shears all equally.
Baaah! HUMBUGGERY!
A shepherd that feeds itself off the flock.
Church people can be so dense about how they spread their hard-earned contributions to such bodies of apostasy.
345 though is really a small number if that means individual congregations. Most though are just to uninformed to know what they have done.
The headline misspelled it. It is the Marxist Council of Churches.
Well, you know how Marxists like to incorporate “world” into everything, from “workers of the world unite” on down . . .
Right! The WCC as well as the NCC are leftist organizations . They are strong lobbiests for Marxist legislation in Washington. They are the ones that chartered the plane that took Elien back to Cuba. Unfortunately the low-information members of the United Church of Christ have no idea of what is going on. Those that do know are leftists themselves. They have given a new meaning to the word Christian.
Christians need to be warriors , Holy warriors , not dovish pacifists . Pacifism does not work . Buddhist are pacifists and what happened to them ? Wiped out in India fled elsewhere , often wiped out there too , and often by less passive Buddhist and Hindus . Today there is an existential threat to the fabric of humanity . Islam . Islam is the mortal enemy to all who are not muslim . In other words ; most of us . If we do not lose this milk toast weak kneed passive approach to these grave and mortal threats ,prepare to see the world as we have always known it disappear forever . The Muslim caused Holocaust that would follow would make the WW2 Holocaust that affected the Jews and others in Europe and the Cambodian holocaust that killed between 2 and 3 million Khmers , look like a precursor event . Jesus Himself advised to “ acquire a sword “ He saw Himself as not a bringer of peace , but of the sword . Many have tried to twist this into a dovish metaphor. Take it literally . Go buy a sword ( etc) ! Arm up ...the time is coming
The WCC is a blatantly communist organization, so what do you expect?
WCC is an organ of the Communist Party and has been for decades.
“World Council of Churches Stands By As Christians Perish, Churches Wither”, but they all have free condoms and some actually believe in God, so that makes everything just fine.
I believe your analogy is perfect.
“Grievous wolves” might be another descriptor.
The WCC has always been far far far left
