They see for themselves and their descendents perpetual membership in the ruling elite class. The easiest way to do that is through socialist programs that redistribute wealth. They are well award that we have passed the tipping point, with more people getting some form of public assistance than are employed in the private sector. That simple fact makes it to hard to get reelected as a real conservative. We have become France.

That is their mantra and it is working.
It is far from responsible, far from prudent and is weighted to the greed and envy of the downtrodden classes. It has sent the nation off kilter with a dizzying array of financial liabilities. It’s finality is unimaginable as it is impossible to kill the Leviathan.
When most of the takers who pay no taxes get to vote to increase your taxes - the Republic is finished.
