(CNSNews.com) – Conservative Rick Santorum, who served two terms as a U.S. senator from Pennsylvania and was a Republican presidential candidate in 2012, criticized fellow conservative Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), saying his approach to defunding Obamacare “did more harm” than good, adding that Cruz did not have a plan...

Well, so much for conservative Santorum.

Of course, all the libs will focus on is his recent statement about his belief that the devil has (film and TV) screens “as his playground” . . .

Harm was done, the only argument is whether it is short or long term [I say long term it was more good than bad]. But was the fault Cruz or the weak sisters who bailed out and killed the strategy? I say the latter. Once again defeat was snatched out of the jaws of victory.

I never liked Santorum and always thought he was a smarmy climber, going way beyond his abilities (don’t forget, he wasn’t reelected to his Senate seat by Pennsylvanians) and trying to hold himself out as some sort of pure, holy conservative while actually not knowing enough about anything to really have any conservative principles. Maybe a few knee-jerk social conservative statements, but not much else.

He wasn’t good against the Dems and not even good against Romney, but he sure managed to get vicious against Gingrich when he thought Romney was going to name him (Santorum) as vice president.

Hope he doesn’t show his face again.

How many more RINOs can the American people afford to have lose Presidential elections for them ??

Look at what TWO losses to radical, America-hating, Marxist administrations has already done to our Constitutional Republic....

Santorum has always been a Romney type.

Santorum was still supporting Arlen Specter for the 2010 election, as he had done in 2004.

Rick’s just mad because he got knocked out of the conservative light by Cruz, he will get over it.

Did supporting Arlen Specter “do more harm than good” Ricky?

Santorum thinks the race we're in is a sprint - he's wrong.

Cruz knows it's a marathon... long and arduous... it's why we trust him and and not Santorum.

Time for Santorum to switch to the Dem party, or move to North Korea where things are nice and Lefty for him.

I read recently about the first round of the special election in Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.

There were five Republicans in the first round with four being called “Tea Party” ones and the other endorsed by the political insiders. One of the four was backed by Paul Ryan and one of the others backed by Santorum etc. etc. etc.

Santorum does the work of the GOPe in my estimation from splitting votes so a RINO can win to dissing those who really want to take action to stop big government expansion like Obamacare.

Guys like Santorum accept bigger government like Obamacare pretending to oppose it for election time votes and financial support.

In the end a guy backed by Judge Roy Moore ended up being the guy to face the RINO who came out on top in the first round of voting in Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.

I hope Dean Young beats the RINO next week in the 2nd round runoff election Tuesday November 5th.

Santorum was a terrible choice in 2012, and this shows why. He was not a serious option. I hope no one gets near him for 2016 because it will just be a distraction and potential vote splitting. I liked Santorum in the Senate, although in the end he succumbed to beltway-i-tis on a few things.

For me, an easy litmus test is to just look at who stands with Cruz, and who doesn’t.

The people who stand with him have at least a little grit. Not as much as he does, but some. The people taking potshots at him reveal themselves to be either gutless, faithless, opportunists, or all three together.

They will never fight for us. They will never stand for principle whatever they say. They will always talk a good game before caving if they even manage to do that.
