I would be willing to bet that this internecine war will not result in Tea Party capitulation, rather the opposite.

You can be certain of that. First, the tea party members believe, and are absolutely convinced, that they are fighting for the survival of the country as we know it. They will never capitulate. On the other hand, the Republican elite do not actually believe in anything or stand for anything. They are simply looking for personal advantage and personal enrichment.
However, the Republican elite is stubborn and does not learn. Therefore, although there is the obvious potential to come together and work together, the arrogance of the establishment will prevent it from happening.
As a result, neither side will capitulate, and the Republican party will be split in two. That is sad, preventable, and not desirable at all.
However, the tea party began as an independent movement, held its nose to work within the GOP when the GOP was pretending to change, and will be more than happy to leave the GOP. Many tea party leaders and members have had to be talked in to remaining within the GOP. It won't take much to get them to walk out.
Most tea party members believe that the Republican Party cannot be saved, and the only hope is to start a new party. Because that belief is so strong, the tea party will never capitulate.
Either Republican leaders reform and return to Reaganesque principles of fiscal responsibility, there will not be any Republican party in a few years.
