Philadelphia mayor wants city to be “most LGBT-friendly” in the world

Last week, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter signed legislation making his city the first in the country to offer tax credits to companies that extend the same healthcare benefits to LGBT employees’ domestic partners and their children as they provide to heterosexual spouses and their families. The bill also offers tax credits to businesses that provide transgender-inclusive health benefits, and ensures that transgender people have safe and equal access to bathrooms in all city-owned buildings.

After signing the measure, Nutter explained that he hoped Philadelphia would become “the most LGBT-friendly” city in the world.

“My goal is for Philadelphia to be one of, if not the most, LGBT-friendly cities in the world and a leader on equality issues,” Nutter told Philadelphia’s WCAU.

As noted by WCAU, the legislation also outlaws discrimination based on gender identity, changes city forms and websites to be LGBT-inclusive, and extends medical and end-of-life decision-making rights to same-sex partners.

“This is a city that is truly respecting all its citizens,” said state Rep. Brian Sims, a Philadelphia Democrat and the first openly gay candidate to be elected to the Legislature. “It is because of that respect that we are indeed a first-class city and we will continue to shine.”

Marriage equality is still banned in the state, though Sims introduced an equal marriage bill earlier in October.

Philadelphia loves sexual deviancy. The kinkier the better.

Thus making it the most straight unfriendly city.

I will give it a wide berth.

even when this country is in its death throes and people can’t feed their kids, these retarded politicians will still be saying
“but we are gay friendly and pro abortion, we are an inclusive society that celebrates our differences”
(of course, they’ll still be anti Christian).

made him say excuse me as his entourage barged into my office building. they butted up to the elevators in front of the doors that i left enough space for the people to exit the elevator. his entourage blocked the space. i did not move when the people had to exit the elevator. he’s a little guy. My price to pay for arriving late to work. the AH sued the boy scouts. in a city where kids sell crack and don’t join the boy scouts cuz they don’t have dad’s.

Philadelphis has such enormous problems. But, the mayor wants to focus on welcoming trans-whatevers and making sure they don’t feel discriminated in a bathroom. Interesting to see how liberals set their priorities.

“they butted up to the elevators “

How appropriate, they will be “butting” up to everything if the mayor has his way.

Must be something unique to Pennsylvania because Graham Spanier wanted the same thing for Penn State when he became President.

It’s also a very Crip and Blud-friendly city, the Greasers and Skaters and Ropers get along but they know they are second tier.
