You cannot have a rational discussion with people like Waxman. The very definition of common words is different. The thought pattern of liberals is so bizarre that there is virtually no hope they will comprehend your argument or have the slightest ability to objectively analyze their own positions. Its really quite hopeless.

RE :”
Under Waxman’s definition, a student graduating from a professional school who happened to be older than 26 (and hence ineligible to stay on his or her parents’ insurance) and who found a job in a small organization that did not provide insurance to employees would be a victim of “abuse” if he or she found an affordable individual insurance policy that provided basic protection from catastrophic health problems. “ That's the best argument they have. ‘Americans are victims and we will protect them from greedy insurance companies’
Of course GOP should emphasize that Obamacare plans with deductibles jacked up to $6000 are one hell of a way to protect us.

Waxman is delusional....were the hell does he think ‘tax credits’ come from?! The taxpayers who pay the bills, Waxman, you moron!
86% of Americans are not going to get ‘tax credits’, they will be pushed into Medicaid (welfare) instead, which is basically a single payer system like the wanted all along.
Did anyone ask Waxman if he had signed up for Obamacare yet?!
May 20, 2013
Mr. Chairman, the report ignored the fact that under Obamacare, the 85% of Americans with employer or public coverage will see little change in premiums or coverage because of the law.
The Republicans report ignores the impact of the Affordable Care Acts tax credits to help cover the cost of insurance premiums. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), 86% of Americans who receive coverage through the new Affordable Care Act Exchanges will receive tax credits, reducing costs by an average of over $5,000 per year. These tax credits will help make insurance affordable for millions.

I think that the fact is that a lot of people buy individual insurance and they should be buying it with everybody else who needs to buy individual insurance. Some of those who have it now are healthy.
