Coal Miner's Slaughter: Thousands Protest War On Coal
Investor's Business daily ^ | October 30, 2013 | IBD EDITORIALS

Regulation: More than 3,500 coal supporters descended on Washington Tuesday to protest environmental rules requiring technology that doesn't exist, designed to turn the Saudi Arabia of coal into the Bangladesh of energy.

Members of Congress, union members, miners and their families stormed Capitol Hill to air their grievances about President Obama's policies that make it harder to burn or mine coal.

They were protesting the government shutdown that hasn't ended — that of the coal industry in pursuit of environmental goals that ignore global temperatures that haven't budged in 17 years and greenhouse-gas emission declines that have occurred as a result of energy industry technology and free market decisions.

Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., passionately told the crowd that Obama's coal policies are "immoral" and "outrageous." When coal plants shut down, he said, communities "have no customers, county governments have no tax revenues to invest in schools or infrastructure. The unemployment in some counties is in double digits . . ."

Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency proposed carbon dioxide emissions caps for new power plants — a key feature of the administration's climate agenda. The caps effectively ban the construction of coal-fired power plants unless they use carbon capture and sequestration technology that doesn't really exist.

Coal miners and coal interests voted overwhelmingly for Romney in 2012. Check out the vote counts and maps for counties that are dependent on coal for their economy. Coal states such as Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois supported Romney in those counties that are heavily into coal operations. Unbfortunately, those counties do not have large populations, so are swamped by votes from large urban areas, almost all which are heavily Dim.

Under the Democrats, the EPA has been run by Communists, dykes or both.

And Obama likes it that way. Just check out the Obie regime women who hold top positions in the Cabinet, govt. departments, and even some positions in the military.

The same applies to regulatory agencies, some law enforcement positions (AFT, ICE, IRS - Lerman, etc).

We are seeing the wussification and feminization of America, and unfortunately, most of them are incompetent. If they were pragmatic, realistic and competent, I wouldn’t be writing this comment.

3500 coal miners don’t mean anything to Obama, he has put millions out of work.

Affirmative action has many faces. In the long run, that may prove to be a blessing in disguise. (Incompetent people do damage by accident. Competent people bent on mayhem are more dangerous.)

Apparently, ‘rules & regulations’ created by the Obama administration which make demands and there is no technology for covers much more than the health care plan.

Almost all of them. At the McCain rally in Bristol, TN, they asked the coal miners attending to raise their hands. There were maybe three. The look on the faces on the stage said, “We’re going to lose.” And the rest is history.

They call two-faced phonies like Machin a “blue dog Democrat”. They use this ruse to fool the more moderate Democrats into thinking that Machin is like a JFK Democrat. But those days were long gone beginning in the seventies when the sixties radicals took over the Democrat party.

Today the “blue dog Democrats” are just a shield that the Dems use to keep getting senators and representatives from more conservative states. The Dems have really fooled these people into believing that there is a choice among Democrat politicians as if not all Democrats have to support abortion, gay agenda, anti guns and all the other extreme liberal laws.

There is no choice in today's Democrat party. If you do not accept all the politically correct ideas then you have to keep your mouth shut. Look at Mary Landrieu, Ben Nelson and Bart Stupak who masqueraded as pro-life Democrats for many years until the Democrats needed their votes to pass Obamacare which contained abortion coverage. Then they switched sides after holding out for millions in pay offs. They only reason those three showed their true colors was that the Republicans refused to “reach across the aisle” to support Obamacare. The Dems did not have the Republican cover to pass it off as a “bipartisan” vote so they had to flush out Landrieu, Nelson and Stupak. This is the kind of elaborate ruses that they carry on in order to fool the gullible and not only Democrat voters but also gullible independents and some gullible Republicans.

I hope West Virgina moves over to the red states just as the Southern states switched over from the Democrats.
