The Roanoke Times on Thursday endorsed no one for governor, joining the Richmond Times-Dispatch and The News & Advance of Lynchburg in finding none of the nominated candidates worthy of support.
(snip)
In an editorial titled A Year to Regret and Regroup the Roanoke paper said it could not back Republican Ken Cuccinelli, Democrat Terry McAuliffe or Libertarian Robert Sarvis.
The papers editorial board wrote that those who cannot in good conscience vote for the official candidates should consider writing in Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling.

Outrageous.
Tough times for newsprint—can’t rock the boat. Try to court both sides of every issue. Stay neutral. Don’t be offensive. Don’t make a stand. Don’t upset anyone—kinda like RINOS.
When does “reasoned disinterest” become “apathy”?
This is such a spineless position to take.
They don’t want to get shut-out of interviewing Hillary when she decides to run so they won’t endorse Cucc.
Write-in for Bolling helps McAwful.
McAuliffe and Bolling meet in Richmond
Bolling, the Romney guy; a complete putz.
The Times Dispatch did the same thing and they should be ashamed. Terry McAuliffe is a scum and both papers know it. They know is a liar and has been running absolute lies against Cuccinelli. They know he is wrong for Virginia but they are cowards because they know if McAuliffe wins they will be shut out. We are going to win without them.
Here is the latest poll: Terry McAuliffe’s lead has evaporated.

Obviously, the two choices on their politically-correct “who shall we endorse” menu are: “The Democrat,” and “No One.”
I think this is some of the best news out there today, for a Left-Wing paper to not endorse the Dem is huge. Either Terry is a bad candidate or the new owner is pulling them back from the abyss. Either way, it is good news in SW Virginia.
The Roanoke Times endorsed Deeds last time around and Tim Kaine in 2005. So the real story here is that they didn’t endorse the Democrat.
Well, I’d rather see them endorse no one rather than endorse McCauliffe.
My thoughts also. Probably the plan.
No. Good news. If these bastards were endorsing ANYONE, it ouwld probably be McCauliffe.
So a liberal newspaper can’t endorse the liberal candidate. I take that as a GREAT THING!
In 2012, I endorsed “None of the Above” for president.
I honestly thought he was the most qualified candidate.
Not as pathetic as endorsing McA$$hole, which is who they would have endorsed if they HAD endorsed anyone.
collusion; they pretend to be neutral but suggest folks write in Bolling, which cuts into the GOP vote. Just another lib trick to win at any cost.
