CAIRO (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry, in an apparent warning to Iran, tried to reassure America’s Arab friends on Sunday that the United States will not allow them to be attacked “from outside.”
He specifically mentioned Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt as nations, alongside unspecified “others,” that the U.S. will defend. Those others likely would include Israel, the strongest U.S. ally in the region.
“The United States will be there for the defense of our friends and our allies,” Mr. Kerry told reporters in Cairo. “We will not allow those countries to be attacked from outside. We will stand with them.”
Mr. Kerry spoke during the first stop on his trip to the Middle East, Europe and North Africa.
After Egypt, he headed later Sunday to Saudi Arabia, where the biggest rifts with the Obama administration have emerged.

"I think our friends no longer count on us, no longer trust us, and our adversaries don't fear us. That was sort of the cornerstone and the basis of the U.S. ability and influence," he said.
"If we're not heavily involved there, if we've turned our back on the region, if we've had a president who believes we overreacted to the terrorism attacks on 9/11, I think the Saudis, the emirates, the Egyptians, many in that part of the world no longer have confidence in the United States," he continued.
Cheney also said he has trouble seeing how the United States can prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon without military action."
The Obama Administration has undermined the U.S. - destroyed our credibility with our allies, dropped our defenses and made the entire world a more dangerous place.
There is one thing that will cause Obama to bomb Iran’s Nuclear Facilities. That “thing” is his poll numbers. If they keep dropping like they have been and Obamacare continues to cause that drop and negatively dominate the news, he will need a major diversion. Don’t forget “Wag the DOG”.

Cheney is wrong. Obama has been very involved in the region: on the wrong side.
The title of this article should read:
U.S. won’t allow attacks on Mideast partners (Iran, Turkey, Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, HAMAS, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Qaeida, Salafists, etc.)
by any other country like Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc. (former allies)...

Bizarrely enough, even lightweight Kerry seems to take these things more seriously than the idiot in the WH. Well, make that ideological, evil idiot.
I think Obama is genuinely working against our interests, but very surprisingly, Kerry is at least trying to preserve some kind of policy. Hillary was obviously too weak and too afraid of Obama to offer even a murmur of dissent - and usually managed to be “indisposed” or “traveling” whenever something happened that might require comment.
We’ll see how long this lasts. Obama doesn’t tolerate any divergence of opinion nor does he like being shown up by underlings.
I feel fortunate that I finished my coffee before I read the headline on this story. My keyboard dodged a bullet, that’s for sure.

So does that mean that if Israel strikes Iran, the US will strike Israel?
