Every pro-life candidate from now on is going to get asked the "Akin question", which goes something like this:

Do you believe that a twelve year old girl, raped by her stepfather, should be legally required to carry the child to term??

And the answer, if not "no", will be trumpeted by the Dems and the MSM 24/7.

Now, I can appreciate the sincerity of any candidate who will answer "yes" to that question, while at the same time recognizing that his or her candidacy is doomed.

Exactly. A sizable majority of Americans oppose aborting anything that clearly looks like a baby. A two-day embryo does not look like a baby, and a sizable majority of Americans is fine with aborting that.

Deal with it as you think best, but don't pretend to a different reality.

I would rather support a Pro-Life Democrat (if there is such a thing anymore, I think Kirsten Powers is the last) than a Pro Choice Republican because Murdering your child is the ONE thing that cannot be undone. Taxes, Regulation all can be done away with, but not rekindle your life.

The lesson from Cuccinellis late surge is that in the end practical realities with immediate or near term impact (ObamaCare) trumps the theoretical (War on Women).
