That McAuliffe’s lead narrowed in the final days -- due in part, it appears, to voters’ early dissatisfaction with ObamaCare -- could throw a scare into some Democrats up for re-election in red states in 2014. (2010 redux?)

Some are blaming the RNC on this for not spending enough money. I doubt it. BOTH sides spent a fortune on this race. If you want to blame a political party, blame the Libertarian party which siphoned off enough votes to give it to the Democrats. Third parties help Democrats.

I still can’t believe that a SLIMY carpetbagger like McAuliffe could come into VA and capture more than a couple hundred votes, no matter how much he spent. All those transplants who came here to enjoy federal largesse, I guess.

"We, the People" will not forget how a so-called "moderate" and powerful group who may call themselves "moderate conservatives" are influencing the future freedom and success of our grandchildren and their grandchildren by their years of yielding up liberty under the guise of "moderation"!

Do they every read the "Declaration of Independence," marking the day when the world changed? Do they understand that, had the men and women of that day been "moderate" and compliant in deferring to coercive government power over their lives America would never have come to be the refuge for oppressed individuals from all over the world?

Message to Republicans:

"Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it." - John Adams, Letter to Abigail Adams, 1777

Republicans, you are having what may be the last chance to preserve "freedom" for future generations! Moderation in the face of arrogant, determined men and women who believe that "fundamentally changing" America from its foundations in freedom into a model based on the Old World ideas from which it separated and distinguished itself--that kind of "moderation" is just cowardice disguised.

That Virginians, living in the land of the "Author of the Declaration of Independence" (Jefferson), and "father" of the Constitution (Madison), would choose a political hack tied to the unprincipled agents of such "fundamental change," is shameful and illustrative of the degree of constitutional illiteracy which "progressive" education brought about.

Why oh why oh WHY ... do precincts insist on reporting in before the metropoli ?

If everyone just held their tally until the big conclaves had reported in, there would be time to attack an uneven voter/vote count and etcetera.

If a city shows a hint of irregularity, the remainder can justify holding back their tally until it is settled in a court ... or whatever.

Just say no.

The loss was the result of the GOP. The GOP is more closely in alignment with the communists elite than the grass root Republicans that support the Tea Party and conservatism.

Cuccinelli did quite well considering that he was vastly outspent and faced an establishment media campaigning for his opponent. I blame his loss on the business class’ failure to fund him.

Cuccinelli had McAuliffe beat with 82% of precincts counted. The Democrats had to swing the last 12% to win. That’s an even scarier stat.

The GOP is all but useless as an institution.

Still, the people of Virginia turned out in droves to vote for a man who is as corrupt and sleazy as it comes. And elected him.

Looking back, you see the same thing with Obama, a man you wouldn’t hire to run anything, and people choose him as their president. Twice.

And Clinton, again as corrupt and sleazy as anyone ever to set foot in the White House, and people elect him and reelect him.

We’ve got a problem that goes deeper than politics and a GOP run by simple political hacks isn’t up to the challenge.
