Christie showed broad appeal, carrying a majority of the votes of women and Hispanics and making gains with blacks and young people — all demographic groups that have stymied other Republicans.

And that would matter if the goal were to elect somebody, anybody, with an (R). If they're de facto (D)'s, what difference do the deck chairs make?
