The GOP has a supermajority in the VA House of Delegates

There’s no doubt that Blacks and Hispanics continue to tilt further to the Left with each passing election.

But what seems to be killing the Virginia GOP is the growth of Northern Virginia. Besides the fore-mentioned minority groups in NoVa, there are a lot of white government workers who are strongly voting Democrat.

The increase of federal government (especially under Clinton and Obama and to a lesser extent under Bush II) have made Virginia really competitive.

I have followed Virginia politics from afar for at least 24 years and I can remember in the past when NoVa was a stronghold of GOP voters. Now, it seems anything but.

The thing is, a lot of these minority voters are immigrants from Mexico and elsewhere in the Third World, who have come to Virginia so they can send money back home.

I would hazard a guess to say that a state run by Third Worlders will eventually start to look like the Third World. I hope Mark Warner enjoys stepping over the flowing ditch of pi9s and feces outside his house in the near future.

FWIW, Bill Kristol says that the results in VA, especially how strongly Cuccinelli closed, indicated that "Warner is very vulnerable next year"

Of course, that assumes that the GOP gets its act together and stops the infighting..

Not demographics, but the mass influx of Government workers who are leaving a Maryland they’ve fouled beyond repair, are turning Virginia blue.

They just elected another Republican Attorney General and returned a super majority to the House of Delegates. So long as the foolish libertarians allow themselves to be puppets for the Democrats, left wing libs will win most statewide offices.

Majority, yes. Unassailable, no. Democrat "loyalty" is a mile wide and and inch deep. The real danger is election fraud - because making their base stay home is easy, but it won't help if the no-shows get "voted" by Democrat operatives, anyway.

Red states are communist/leftist/liberal/progressive states.

Blue states are Reagan Republican states, established by his landslide wins in 1980 and 1984.

Get it right.

Virginia should consider giving back to a non-voting D.C. the part that was D.C. before the Civil War

Before we continue our crying session and quit, we should ask how this race have turned-out if Cuccinelli had not been so grossly outspent. How it would have turned-out if Cuccinelli had ignored his beltway handles and campaigned like Wisconsin Gov. Walker?

Except for the northeast there are no blue states. There are blue cities that are so blue that they can provide enough votes to win majorities for the left in statewide elections. Call it the government as Daddy syndrome.

I’ve tended to believe in the demographic trend also.

Perhaps Obamacare can be a difference maker.

The big problem is the Dems strategy is based on entitlements funded by fake money.

Until they meet the harsh sword of financial reality, it’s an uphill struggle.
