"...dragged into this non-stop cycle" of bad news ..."

Ha. Ha. Ha. You were warned. Back when the House Blue Dogs were doing their tortured soul act about whether to vote "no" on ObamaCare this was posted at FR:

That day has arrived.

Hey Repubs... if you try to help fix it, you'll share the blame for its' failure.

Sit on your hands and let the fool Democrats' incompetence shine... They are destroying themselves with this, do NOT get in their way.

They are going to blame Bart Stupak for this. If he voted no, tis never would have happened.

“They heard our caucus,” Pascrell said. “I wouldn’t say [it was] heated, but very specific. In this business, you keep your word or get out.”

Not Heated? I vote for GET OUT!

It is the culture of the Dem party to aschew economics, believe in the bottomless wealth of the rich, and know with certainty that insurance companies, big oil, and corporations are evil and the true sources of most citizens’ problems.

However, these are fantastical theories unrelated to the real world.

In the real world, programs cost everyone real money. Actions have costs and are not entirely benefit. Once you do something you think is good, you must actually carry it out and do the hard work of both paying for it and making it succeed. These Democrat politicians simply wanted to do something for pure ideological reasons and really believed it would be a glorious success that showered acclaim on each of them while causing the insurance companies to wither into smoky grease spots and the wealthy to shrug while admitting they are greedy and shelling out a bit of money to help all the little people. The Dems are hopelessly ignorant of economics and complex systems.

And, if they could, they would now write and pass a bill that stated, simple, “It is fixed”. Such a bill would match the level of understanding they have of this whole mess and make them feel good again.

obamacare is not going to fail. The pubbies won’t let it! Refusing to fund this monstrosity before it was rolled out was the only way to stop this nightmare. From now on the pubbies will be 100% on board and will either come up with or will endorse a legislative’fix’ to every ‘glitch’ that comes up. It will be repealed right after we repeal Medicare and Medicaid, or Social Security, Or Medicare Plan D RX, or any other federal entitlement program.

"Mr. Stupak developed a deep understanding of issues that directly affected his constituents, including matters related to energy, healthcare, telecommunications and international trade. As an attorney at Venable, he is in a unique position to provide clients with well-informed, extensive counsel that is based on a thorough knowledge of these industries and related legislation."

Uh, OK.....

The GOP has to go Pontius Pilate on all of this.

Spot on! The only GOP "offer" should be complete repeal.

The House would be open to considering a Democratic-sponsored bill to fix ObamaCare, if the Senate can pass it

The laws of systemantics that a complicated and complex system that isn't working cannot be "made" to work. Pushing on the system just makes things worse by generating new problems and unexpected outcomes. And the new system will tend to oppose its own proper function, because it does not do what it says it is doing. The total behavior of a large complex system cannot be predicted. It is better to start over beginning with a working simple system.
