State insurance chiefs already rejecting Obama’s ‘fix;’ mixed reaction among Democrats

Some insurance commissioners already have rejected President Obama’s plan to allow Americans hold onto barebones health plans for another year, saying the move will undercut their attempts to build a balanced insurance system under the reforms.

They threw cold water on the plan mere hours after Mr. Obama announced the decision as a way to quash unrest among Democrats whose constituents are losing their existing health insurance.

Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler said permitting state residents to keep plans that do not meet Obamacare’s minimum-coverage requirements could upset the state’s carefully calibrated health exchange. “I do not believe his proposal is a good deal for the state of Washington,” he said. “In the interest of keeping the consumer protections we have enacted and ensuring that we keep health insurance costs down for all consumers, we are staying the course. We will not be allowing insurance companies to extend their policies.”

A few blocks from the White House, D.C. Insurance Commissioner William P. White said the plan “undercuts the purpose of the exchanges, including the District’s D.C. Health Link, by creating exceptions that make it more difficult for them to operate.”

Sen. Ben Nelson, Florida Democrat and former state insurance commissioner, issued a statement that said Florida will “cooperate” with Mr. Obama’s administrative decision.

Bad news for the insurance companies. That leaves them open to the blame for not reissuing the old policies.

Well, we’ll have to see. I heard that Washington (state of) is rejecting the proposed fix because the insurance commissioner wants all of the ACA upgrades, and the fix undoes them. Not exactly a firm position, or what I would have hoped for.

These state people obviously have not gotten the message that the pres—ent is now ruling by decree. The brownshirts will be around in short order to enforce Dear Leader’s pronouncements.

RE: Wash. State commissioner wants all of the ACA upgrades.

I think, too, that the fix also undercuts all the states that have their own healthcare sites, i.e., fewer will go to their site. Wash State joins Arkansas and D.C. so far.

Three quick points:

1.) Tyrant Obama cannot legally change the Obamacare Bill that he signed into Law.

Only the US Congress can legally change the Law, which then can be signed by Obama.

_________

2.) The MANDATORY dictate in Obamacare is the only factor that is essential to that Federal Law.

Take out the MANDATORY dictate in Obamacare, and only the Federally subsidized, or chronically unhealthy will buy it.

For example:

“What would be the incentive for increased consumer demand for policy purchase of a NON-MANDATORY Obama Socialized Health Insurance Tax (OSHIT) instead of purchasing a policy from a private insurance company?”

3.) Will the House RINOs think of either of the above two points? I seriously doubt it.

El Douche knew this when he said it. Even if the state commissions allowed it, the insurance companies would either drop out because they couldn’t raise rates or they would offer them only with sky high rates to cover the “free riders”.

No! Please don’t let him die in office like Kennedy did.

We would have to rename every school, every airport, every boulevard, every new Navy ship, and every barbecue joint in America after him.

No, thanks!

It’s going from a tangled mess to a wad of steel wool with a battery attached to cause random strands to burn up. The question is whether the chaos will drown us or if it will result in a movement away from the “liberalism” that is causing the mess..

Considering that the insurance companies are making more money selling higher priced policies to people with the same low risk that they had with the bare-bones policies then why should the insurance companies want to reinstate the canceled plans? They’re cutting their own throats.
