Face it: Oswald did it

FIFTY years ago this week President John Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, a Castro-supporting communist who had learned to shoot straight while in the US Marines. Half a century later, 61% of Americans believe in a conspiracy. Amazingly, this is the lowest level since the late 1960s.

Poster comments: There was no second gunman. There was no conspiracy.

There also was not a herd of pink elephants walking in the Reflecting Pool in DC, but I can't prove there wasn't. See the point?

I have read ‘Mafia Kingfish’, (Good read!!)), but I’ll go with the book, ‘Ultimate Sacrifice’, for the best read on those 2 plots. Maybe someday those 2 planed attempts will get some MSM attention, who knows?!

“...1400 killed or captured to spend the rest of their lives in one of Castro’s prisons...”

The were ransomed and returned to the US where Mrs. Kennedy spoke to them in the Orange Bowl. She spoke in Spanish.

“Are you sure it was Greece, and not Turkey?”

The missiles were Jupiter intermediate range missiles deployed in Turkey. They were effectively obsolete and vulnerable to Soviet attack by 1963 so removing them wasn’t much of a concession.

Charleston, SC: The original site of Scottish Rite Masonry in the U.S.

Also home of Lindsey Graham. Coincidence? I think not!

Loved the book, but could never collaborate the premise. Every conclusion I have regarding the assassination required two or more collaborating publications and the Ultimate Sacrifice doesn’t. As I read more and buy more books, someday my conclusions may differ.

Sorry, just how I evaluate my conclusions.

Always open to other ideas.

This has been a fascinating thread. I love watching competing and contradictory conspiracy theories cancel each other out.

Perhaps your Carcano had been thrown down too many times by Italian troops retreating in front of the Brits in North Africa.

I had some experience with a Mannlicher Carcano and it was a decent weapon. It was certainly capable of making deadly shots at twice the range Oswald faced.

Is it a coincidence that shriner’s fez is adorned with the symbol of islam?

The scope mount would make two hundred yard shot unlikely. But Oswald’s third and longest shot was less than 82 yards. That distance would not be very challenging for a scoped hunting handgun with solid support.

The key piece of evidence given is a latent fingerprint. It was taken from a box, possibly used as a sniper’s mount, on the 6th Floor of the Texas Schoolbook Depository Building (TSDB) where Oswald allegedly shot at Kennedy.

But the fingerprint is not Oswald’s.

An expert chosen by McClellan was shown the latent print with no prior knowledge of its context, and found that it matched a fingerprint on record for a Texan named Mac Wallace. The affidavit of this expert, Nathan Darby, is impressive, as are his credentials. Darby found a minimum of 14 matching points, whereas the FBI had inferior prints and far fewer matching points from the barrel of the gun Oswald ostensibly used. (Publishers Weekly, in their recent review, referred to this key latent print as a questionable “smudge,” and devalued the book as a result. But on what basis? The reader should note that the Warren Commission took this latent print extremely seriously; so seriously that they circulated an internal memorandum among themselves — exhibited in the book — expressing “anxious” concern over it.) That memorandum and the latent fingerprint set the stage.

Together they are certainly worthy of examination — and of a book, if the right links can be proven. That this book is written by Barr McClellan, Texas insider and former lawyer for Johnson, makes the potential all the more compelling. From behind the wall of the attorney-client privilege, the details come forward.

The question then becomes this:

If the latent print proves Mac Wallace was on the sixth floor of the TSDB, then what was Wallace’s relationship to LBJ’s inner circle?

Of all of the wild conspiracy theories, the only one that sounds half right plausible and make sense from a who would benefit greatly from it is that LBJ did it
Agreed. The main reason LBJ was JFK's running mate was to shore up the "Dixiecrat" vote. And it seems they actually hated each other, their's was an alliance of convenience. Also, as an anecdote I remember my parents telling me how back in 1962-63 we were in a recession. My grandparents, like many "seasoned citizens" who lived through the Depression were worried that we were heading for another one. There was serious concerns within the DNC that Kennedy would not win re-election in 1964.

If he was involved, that picture of Mrs. Kennedy, still in her blood stained suit, standing next to LBJ in the plane while he’s taking the oath, makes me sick.

I heard he was a real peach of a guy and a womanizer.

RE :”I think all know the real, culprit...Pay No Attention to the fact that she wasn't born until years later.”

It happened a year before she was born in 1963.
A pretty good alibi for her ...

...but could she be lying about her age.... just add a few years and she could still be a suspect.

Does she own a gun?

Having shot many dozens of melons, pumpkins, soda bottles, aerosol cans, etc, with rifle rounds, all I can say from my personal experience is that there is no way to tell, in any individual shot/impact, where the shot came from just from the motive reaction of the target.

If anyone says they can tell, just from the reaction of Kennedy's head, where the shot came from, they must have some kind of special knowledge my 30 years of personal experience hasn't revealed.

That is terrifying.

Is there nothing we can do about her before someone else is hurt?

"Oswald definitely did it. The only question is why? It certainly didn’t further soviet interests."

For his own personal ego. He believed he was destined to be a great man. Life wasn't living up to that expectation. He knew by shooting the President he would be someone important.
