Face it: Oswald did it

FIFTY years ago this week President John Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, a Castro-supporting communist who had learned to shoot straight while in the US Marines. Half a century later, 61% of Americans believe in a conspiracy. Amazingly, this is the lowest level since the late 1960s.

Poster comments: There was no second gunman. There was no conspiracy.

There also was not a herd of pink elephants walking in the Reflecting Pool in DC, but I can't prove there wasn't. See the point?

The Best Evidence against a Conspiracy theory is Oliver Stone's Conspiracy theory.

That Poor man is a Nut who should be painting beaches in the south pacific away from where he can do others harm.

You really don't think that it furthered Soviet interests? I do.

You've piqued my curiosity.

How so?

But Kennedy had won Texas in 1960. And (with the exception of the 1972 election) the democrat presidential candidate would always win Texas until Reagan.

These items have been mentioned in several books, especially those that include the Mafia in the overall plot. The best read on the subject is a book by John H. Davis called “Mafia Kingfish”.

These incidents have been mentioned in several documentaries but not covered by the MSM. Why? Eludes the crap out of me.

A weak president like JFK would definitely be in the USSR’s interest

I totally disagree.

The Cuban Missle Crissis, the Bay of Pigs, an AG's war against organized crime all done by a moderate president belonging to a party the Soviets were trying to infiltrate.

That kind of president and that kind of Democrat was not in the interest of the Soviets.

And the effect on the Democrat party was chilling. Democrats from that point forward started acting in support of anti American and pro Soviet interests.

“Personally, I wondered if Sarah Palin was involved. /s”

A typical anti-Palin fanatic would say “Well, considering she was born 3 months later that would PROVE she was involved!”

Agreed. LBJ was behind it and had either CIA, mob or both assets to aid him. Anyone who has seen the Zapruder stabilized version of the kill shot on JFK clearly comes to the conclusion that bullet came from the grassy knoll. Multiple shooters, and Oswald was the fall guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqk3sdfXFkc

If Oswald did it, there was no reason to “seal” the info for fifty years. That is one reason people are willing to believe conspiracy theories. Jack Ruby's actions also point to more than some commie/sympathizer thug as a lone gunman.

Many people in that time period believed that Johnson did it. It was shocking to me that so many people believed that. I was a teenager, and it was just unbelievable that it happened, let alone that member of the government would be involved.

As time went on, and I learned that Kennedy had ordered assassinations. I also learned that the CIA used the mafia to do “wet work” in the USA. We have a current president who targets American Citizens with drones. Sadly, I can now say that many more things are possible than I ever thought back then. How naive and innocent I was.

I listened to tapes on the History Channel of a group of men plotting to kill Kennedy in Miami. I can't even remember who they were or what their beef was.

It appears that there are several groups that had motive, and the means to kill Kennedy. I don't know which one actually did it. If Oswald did it, then I would suspect that the Soviets and/or Castro ordered it, and records were sealed to prevent WWIII.

The theory that was proposed as “Mortal Error” by an inexperienced Secret Service Agent was also plausible as presented recently on TV.

To me, it's ironic that Kennedy had ordered assassination of other leader(s), and himself was assassinated. The death of Oswald, and lack of trial and subpoena, means that we'll never know in my lifetime for certain, and possibly never.
