Their privilege .... like the Japanese borrowings and spellings (in Japanese kana) of "fork" as "forku" and "steak" as "bifteku".

Another advantage of making Korean easier to learn (read anyway) than Japanese (by a good margin) and Chinese (by gigantic margin) was when they started writing/reading from left to right and across the page instead of down in columns. (granted you can still find the old styles around).
