No. The plane forced down during the Bush years was a P-3 Orion, based on the turboprop Electra airframe.
The P-8 Poseidons are jet-powered, based on the Boeing 737 airframe.
Isn’t an Orion for ASW? I thought that the aircraft forced down had a different mission than ASW. Some kind of electronic surveillance mission. Maybe it had the same airframe, but different equipment on board.
