Gun-rights advocates oppose Madison bus ban

MADISON, Wis.—Gun-rights advocates are preparing a court challenge to a Madison policy that bans weapons on city buses. Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Carry Inc. says it plans to file a lawsuit in the next few weeks challenging Metro Transit's policy banning "weapons of any kind." The group says the policy violates the state's concealed-carry law.

But city officials say they're confident the policy is legal. Metro spokesman Mick Rusch says it's in the best interest of passengers not to allow guns on buses.

A Wisconsin State Journal report ( http://bit.ly/1d2pyRF) says the city also bans guns in city buildings and Metro shelters.

Nik Clark is the president of Wisconsin Carry. He says the policy infringes on a person's right to carry if they rely on public transportation or live in a high-crime area.

"Public transportation" is the exact place where a concealed handgun is most likely to be necessary, so let's make it illegal there.

The innocent Trayvons should not have to fear for their lives should they decide to play Knockout King on a few fellow passengers.

Metro Transit's policy banning "weapons of any kind."

Has anyone given thought to what that could be determined to include?? Anything from a baseball bat to a golf club to a pocket knife and millions of other things easily fit that "Progressive" description.. Some people are just starved for something to get upset about.

I carry a gun on the bus because carrying the “Epic Beard Man” is too heavy.

(look it up)

It’s a public city service. A CCW permit should override it. It’s not like it’s a courthouse where they have armed deputies on every one doing pat downs getting on and off the bus.

A newspaper, folded or rolled the right way, can make an effective weapon.

You would be surprised to see what the police take off
some of the people.

Sharpened screwdrivers.
BarBQ Forks, ice picks.
Sissors, BIG sissors.
Razors, box cutters etc.

A friend runs a junk yard and helps the police by
destroying confiscated junk like that.

This is part of the overall scam. If they get away with this the next will be to ban guns on the highway if it passes near a school. Then will come the banning of guns if you live within a mile of a school. Similar to several of the proposals the Chicago Gov’t mob was exploring before the CCW approval by the state.

So they couldn’t violate Rosa Parks’ 15th amendment constitutional rights on a bus in Birmingham, AL in the 1950s but if she were alive and living in Madison, WI they could violate her second amendment rights in 2013. How does that work again?

Then ban the busses, they can be used as a deadly weapon.

Yes, we’ll continue to forcibly take your money to pay for public transportation that you will never use. No, you will not be allowed to exercise your constitutional rights if you ever choose to use that public transportation. yes, if you’re white, male, alone, and well dressed, you can expect to be robbed and/or assaulted by n words if you choose to use public transportation with any regularity. and no, we will not provide for your safety in any way. Rat government at its best.

You got to give robbers some venue where it's safe to practice their trade. It's only fair!
