UPDATED: The Fox News contributor, who has been seeking additional TV opportunities, will debut "Amazing America" in 2014.

Sarah Palin is making another play for TV stardom. The Fox News contributor and former vice presidential candidate will host a new show on the Sportsman Channel. our editor recommends

Dubbing her the "First Lady of the Outdoors" in a Monday release, the cable channel is slotting Amazing America With Sarah Palin for April 2014. It's described as an "anthology of stories that explore some of the most original, interesting -- and sometimes inspiring -- people, places and pastimes connected to America's outdoors lifestyle."

"I'm excited to help shine a light on all the great American sportsmen and women in the country who live the outdoors lifestyle," said Palin. "Sportsman Channel is the leader in their industry and I am thrilled to be partnering with them on this show."

An outdoors enthusiast and perhaps Alaska's most famous daughter, the project is not a stretch for Palin -- but it is her most niche TV outing to date. She previously starred in Sarah Palin's Alaska for TLC back in 2010. The show was canceled after one season.

Go Sarah go! I see this as a step toward the Presidency. It's much the same as Ronald Reagan getting exposure on television in the 50s and 60s. He was a welcome guest in our household on the old black and white set. This strategic move by soon-to-be-President Palin will also make her a welcome guest -- but on the modern television screens of today.

Never saw Reagan on TV, but this is what came to my mind, too, when I read this story.

It is another smart move by Governor Palin. She earns her own money, gets a platform to advance her agenda, remains living in the hate filled heads of the Privileged Liberal Elitists, and gets to enjoy the wonder and beauty of America.
Just from the earnings from this show, she will be able to fund 5 or 6 Senate,Governor or House races for Tea Party conservatives.

Sarah Palin is more powerful and more wealthy than when she was governor.
The leftists weren’t so smart in hounding her out of being governor.

She "funds" races? Got any evidence to show that?

I must disagree. Reagan moved from TV to two terms as governor of California before becoming presidential material. Palin's trajectory seems to be going in the opposite direction. IMO, she would need to get back into winning elective office again on a statewide basis somewhere before being taken seriously as a presidential contender. But she may be happy having a career hosting TV programs, selling books, making money for her family, and speaking out on political issues. And if so, that's her choice. Somebody else will step up to the plate.

As long as she continues to make a good living, be a visible presence, make her political opinions known, support conservative candidates, and most importantly drive liberals up the wall, she’s golden.

I hope that’s the case. Because if the GOP ticket in 2016 doesn’t include either one of the names of Palin or Cruz, chances of me even bothering to vote are virtually nil.

Well, I have to admit that this putrid, dying sewer of a country that America has become is hardly worthy of her.

Well, you know, I really get very upset when I end up posting an article even nearly identical to one appearing on an earlier thread. So, as I usually do under the circumstances when I get to be aware my post having appeared earlier in one form or another, I’ll do the article search as I origninally did before posting a second time to validate having posted my link properly IF the follow-up search does not turn anything up. And as what happened prior to posting the story, the title I submitted turned nothing other than what I orignally posted.

Yes it seems hard to find other threads. But I don’t worry about it as all you can do
is try. I cross link them so that they can be referenced when looking for material.

I find a search does better when using a single word such as Palin and do it as
a title search. It returns the following:
