Does this decision have anything to do with the fact that she stated publicly - yesterday - that the whole thing was made-up BS?
The charges were always “alleged”, not a shred of proof was ever produced.
And yes, George is being persecuted by the local police for his “nonconformity”. George Zimmerman does not fit into any convenient slot, so he is automatically presumed guilty, therefore any protestations of innocence or facts to the contrary are rigorously and firmly ignored.
Has anybody noticed that the local police forces are becoming more and more like a domestic army, much more quick to shoot first and ask questions only long after the fact? There is a growing militarization of the police corps at all levels, up to and including local “terror squads” that imprison people in their homes, and denying any participation by citizens in bringing a fleeing criminal to a stop. This includes such anti-libertarian attitudes as disarming legal owners, arresting the VICTIM who fights back against the perpetrator, and seemingly taking the side of the criminal in assaults.
Number one example was the rundown of the woman who was shot by the Capitol police in DC only recently. There are plenty more instances, but it seems that the police have declared a state of martial law almost unilaterally, if not everywhere, enough so that distrust of the uniform becomes a much greater issue than ever.
That said, this is Florida, and Corey went to trial with insufficient evidence, in order to make a political statement and appease the restive blacks.
