A Colorado teen hell-bent on confronting his former debate team coach stormed his high school and shot and wounded a female student before killing himself — just eight miles from Columbine and on the eve of the Newtown massacre’s first anniversary.
Alleged Arapahoe High School shooter Karl Pierson. The shotgun-toting teen stalked into Arapahoe HS in Centennial at around 12:30 p.m. local time — hunting for the coach, whom he angrily called out by name, said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.
“The [staffer] exited the school immediately. It was a very good tactical decision to try to take the student with him,” Robinson said.

I’m not going to question it but the thought did cross my mind.
Unless he taunted him and tried to get him to follow, I’d say he was just looking out for himself.

Talk about a false choice. What person in his right mind would stick around and get shot?
One of the reports is that he shot at the debate coach and missed. Or might have hit the girl rather than the debate coach, who then fled. It will be interesting to sort out the facts on this one.

I don’t think it matters why he left. What good would it have done for him to have stayed there?
I suspect that the teacher did think that if the kid’s beef was with him, the kid would probably leave everybody else alone if the teacher left. He had threatened to kill this same teacher a few days earlier. I don’t know if the teacher reported it at the time.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been more about the motive. Surely students knew if there was some kind of rift between the teacher and student.
If it’s found out that he’s a hero for his actions the MSM will find him a coward for running away.

Wasn’t saying running was bad. Just don’t like the fact they are trying to label him a Hero or a Coward or try to discern why he ran.

The debate coach ran away after the shooter missed him and hit a girl near him instead. And he was then escorted out of the school by the janitor.
