It just shows that China can reach anywhere in the US with their rockets. OTOH, how much moon dust can you analyze? China could have offered to buy reports about the moon from us at a fraction of the cost of going there.
That, I believe, is one of the hidden messages sent to the Soviets with the Apollo moon missions-demonstrating how well US missiles could pinpoint and strike anywhere they were sent.
