Charles B. Rangel, the venerable but embattled congressman from Harlem, will announce on Thursday that he is running for a 23rd term, according to a colleague in the New York House delegation.

Representative Rangel — who in an unusually introspective email to supporters over the weekend prompted speculation that he might retire — told the colleague, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, this week that “I haven’t announced yet, but I want folks to know that I am going to do it.”

“He is full of energy,” said Mr. Meeks, a fellow Democrat.

And yet some wonder why black voters are almost 100% in the bag for Obummer? Charlie will get elected; he could kill someone between now and November and he’ll get elected in prison.

This is for real. Not a photoshop. The event took place in Rangel's district of Harlem, NYC some years ago.

Note: the page (on the Workers World Party website) with this photo has recently been removed.

But here's other evidence of his speaking at the event:

"Among the many speakers were elected representatives—U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel and New York City Council members Charles Barron and Margarita Lopez—who have bucked their party to come out against the war. Barron has also introduced a Troops Out Now resolution in the City Council."--Workers World Party

Rangel is a decadent tax cheat and a liar. He is a sick parasite. But he is supported by parasites . What a joke he is.

Of Course he is going to run.
He doesn’t have to spend a dime to win, all Harlem blacks will vote for him,, and he cannot do anything else. He gets free trips, lobbyists kissing his can, perks, why should he leave?

His congressional district has only had two representatives since 1945. He could be dead and get reelected in that district.

Rangel is full of HORSESHIT and you know it! There is a man who has worked the system and his dumb constituents to “serve”? in congress, note lower case “c”, for as long as 44 years! Yes, he represented Harlem's riff and raff and the few honorable folks in the district, but his impact on the rest of the nation will always be that he was a crook who was a dishonorable person. YUK!

His predecessor was Adam Clayton Powell. I thought I had read somewhere that Powell’s son was going to run for this seat. Powell spent more time in Bimini than in Harlem. Rangel prefers The Dominican Republic where he can get underage whores for his campaign financiers. When Rangel dies, he and Powell can have a runoff for the seat!
