A New York school district is in hot water with moms and dads after educators removed all religious references in “Silent Night,” a religious Christmas carol about the birth of Christ.
“It’s kind of insulting,” parent Robert Dowd told television station WCBS. His child attends Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School in Kings Park, Long Island.
Many parents and concert goers were stunned last week when boys and girls sang the familiar Christmas carol – sans the references to Jesus. The words “Holy Infant,” “Round yon virgin” and “Christ the Savior” were taken out. Instead, the phrase “sleep in heavenly peace” was used.
School Superintendent Susan Agruso told the Kings Park Patch that the words were removed to prevent non-Christians from being offended.
“The chorale director thought it was an appropriate way to represent the song without offending those of other faiths,” Agruso told the newspaper.

It is stupid to change the words to a song. Why not just pick another song like Frosty the Snowman. I think it makes it worse when they change the words.
The attack on Christians gets more brazen every Christmas. Why are Christian parents surprised that the evil doers in charge of the anti-Christian public schools are openly attacking the faith of their children?
I am really, really sick of this crap.

The days when people will be hated for the name of Christ are here. It’s Jesus that the world has a problem with - He is the stumbling block. They have no problem with using the name God, because that can be generic. It’s the name of Jesus which drives them crazy.
why do Christians even attend or allow their children to be used as props for these faux “winter” concerts?
Just decorate the schools in plain black paper and be done with it

I would tell my kids to sing it as it's supposed to be sung and I would deal with whatever the school said or did as "repercussions".
You never lose when proclaiming Christ!
But what about the faith they have offended?

Changing the words or musical score to fit some PC educator is also insulting to the composer of the song.....
That sound you hear is Joseph Mohr rolling over in his grave.
They also removed their very own salvation... one can ruin a song but one will NEVER be able to disavow CHRIST... not in the end... you will beg HIM and HE will not listen. Once that Trumpet sounds... it is all over but the crying and gnashing of teeth.
If it comes... you will have no need to ask when.

It’s not just at Christmas. There is a very well-financed, well-directed, widespread and insidious assault on Christianity, and it has the support and encouragement of the Obama administration.
