Having grown up living in a trailer -- but having never, ever watched “Duck Dynasty” -- I feel uniquely qualified to say this: Enough with the trailer-trash TV shows.
I don’t really care which side of the septic tank you stand on regarding the stuff that “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson spouted. Like a mountain lion stalking a deer (an example the show’s fans might like), he was just doing what came natural when he mouthed off about gays, blacks, God and the little woman.
It’s not his fault. It’s America’s. We -- well, fine, not all “we’s” but enough -- first tuned in to the spectacles of TV’s anti-Christ, Jerry Springer. And then the gates of hell opened and out sprang cable TV and the drivel we have today: moonshiner shows, gold miner shows, logging guy shows, Alaska fisherman shows, truck driver shows, polygamists shows -- even doomsday people shows, brought to us by (shudder) National Geographic, the folks who used to be content to publish a pretty good magazine.
Full disclosure, I don’t much care for ducks, either eating them or hunting them. And the last show I watched with the word “dynasty” in the title starred John Forsythe, Linda Evans, Joan Collins and Heather Locklear -- who, trust me, were all much easier on the eyes than anyone on “Duck Dynasty.”
And I surely don’t have anything against hardworking everyday Americans. That describes me too.
But I also know the trailer life -- been there, done that. I spent a few years crammed into an 8-foot-wide, 50-foot-long trailer with Mom, Dad, two brothers and two sisters. We moved a lot. Sometimes people didn’t want us; sometimes they used names, like “trailer trash.”(continued)

Just more of what the Los Angeles Times (Pravda on the Pacific) does. It’s anti-American slant has never been more twisted. What should we expect from the exact opposite of a God fearing loyal patriotic Conservative operation?
Does the Times realize what historic footsteps it is following in, when it trashes Christian values and thereby Christianity?
As good little Marxists they should, because Christians are always the first to go in every single Marxist nation on God’s green earth.
We have told them where they were headed for thirty years. They laughed an denied it.
Here we are. The L. A. Times champions values that I detest. The good citizens of California will begin to understand over the next few years as the Times backs those who come after first one church and it’s believers, and then another.
That gets me too.
With liberals, we are told that if we don’t like a show, or are offended for some reason, to change the channel.
But the liberal view is also that if something offends liberals, then it should be taken off the air entirely.
Who died and made liberals the boss of all of us? Who decided that these decisions are to be made per liberal criteria???

Just imagine how frightening a bearded white man who reads and believes the Bible, likes guns, shoots and eats animals must be to liberals and most of the Democratic base.
This “progressive”, liberal leftist admits to never having watched the show but he wants to do away with it. Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin would be so proud. Growing up in a trailer doesn’t make him a Duck Dynasty “expert”. Personally, I don’t know what trailers have to do with anything.
Living in Los Angeles, he should know that trailers can go for a million dollars in Southern California.
