I think its too late. With alcohol prohibition, distillers had every intention of returning to alcohol production at some point. The raw materials were common and they were back to full scale production within weeks.

Light bulbs are a far more complicated manufacturing process that requires things like the mining and refining of things like tungsten. They have to somehow start with nothing and build an industry under the weight of crushing taxes and regulation.

Our best hope is that we can repeal the law and hope to attract a foreign manufacturer to the USA some day in the future.
