Going to church “Mass” on Christmas is a primarily Catholic thing. A lot of Protestant churches have a midnight service but its not really a major issue.
My sister went to a midnight service at her Methodist church.
For Catholics, Christmas is a Holy Day of Obligation. You are required to go to Mass on that day.
