Sometimes, people start to wise up to sociopaths and serial liars.
Decent people are typically unaccustomed to recognizing or dealing with sociopaths. I know I was not at one time. I am sure that the joe-six-pack voter was all but incapable of looking at Obama for the first time and recognizing a con-man.
