It’s really what the left has been fighting for all along. They very much believe in the idea of well-educated elites making the decision for the rest of us.
I bet they’d fully agree to a single authority - as long as he was a lefty/commie.
This goes right with their ideology, that those in power are more enlightened, moral, intellectually superior to all others,
that they need to be given the power to substitute their decisions for yours.
