Here in Vermont everyone’s green enough, but they also use plenty of wood stoves and don’t worry too much about the smoke. Wood is local, it provides local jobs, and there aren’t enough people around to produce anything like smog, even in the towns.
I looked into it, and didn’t buy a catalytic stove, because the damned catalytic part quickly wears out. Instead, I got a well designed and vented stove that’s almost as clean as a catalytic stove—and lasts for more than a year.
I’m sure this is designed to kill the Vermont stove industry. Probably sponsored by Obama’s good pals at BP.
