If I want to harvest my own lumber and use it to cook or heat my home/campsite/etc, I’m gonna do it, and no pencil-pusher is going to stop me.

I agree with you on the way things ought to be BUT my money would be on the pencil pusher to win. History would simply repeat itself.....
