It’s not about the horses ... it’s about the real estate the stables sit on.

most everyone who’s never been to NYC thinks of a few things when NYC comes to mind.....Broadway,Times Square, the Empire state building and horse drawn carriage rides in Central Park....

It is hard to shiv a get about anything in one of the armpits of the USA (the other being SF). But this story has attracted my attention because we have a Surrey (Vintage 1910) and two matched horses to pull it. We intend to use it a lot when all this GoreBull warming is gone and we can enjoy again being out and about.

That all being said, I believe this story reported here has legs. Will it count for anything? Not anywhere on God’s green earth, but NYC does not count as being any part of that.

What it does say, or remind us all, is that the Dems are evil, and some are more evil than the others. DiBlasio is one of the really evil ones. Also the NIC (present usurping occupant of the White Hut). And a few others.

The voters in their jurisdictions who elected them deserve them and their evil shinnigans. The rest of us do not...but we get the fall out. So I say, to Hell with the lot of ‘em...

...and save us all from their ill meaning ‘executive orders’.

De Blasio’s plan (promoted by Nislick’s NYCLASS, of course) is to replace the horse-drawn carriages with electric replicas of antique cars. After learning of this plan via a pro-carriage Twitter campaign, I remarked last night: “Electric cars. That’s going to be a real romantic treat for honeymooners, isn’t it? ‘Oh, we went to New York and rode the electric cars!’”

My reaction, too—so fast, making it so obvious... have we fallen so far that it is reasonable to think we wouldn’t notice, or is DeBlasio that inartful in repaying his favors?”””

Do you really think he cares that he’s been found out?

Some politicians do, some don’t. It’s a mix of ego, arrogance, and cold assessment of the devotion of their supporters. Right now Dem office-holders in red states are quite confident of the latter. With DeBlasio... it’s early. Maybe he’s right, maybe he’s just stupid; time will tell.

Its just that I’m used to politicians pretending a little harder to be righteous. Even Obama initially tried to appoint credible economic advisers. It was only after he became confident (”I won”) that he really let loose in his appointments (see Van Jones).

A-ha “re-purposing” some prime real estate! And I figured it was cronys who were going to sell the electric buggy replacements.

I think it's both. Greed has no limit.

Though the given reason is the welfare if the horses

Welfare of the horses my aching behind. The reality is that if the horses aren't working and paying their way, it will be off to the glue factory for them. Hay isn't cheap. Anyone that thinks that these horses would just be retired to frolic in lush, green pastures must be an air-headed liberal.

Of course it’s true. When you scratch below the surface of ANY leftist campaign, it invariably turns out to be funded by someone positioned to profit financially.
