The program itself is pretty good throughout its 17 episodes but some of the talking heads are full of mush like this guy.
I ran across a reference to him in something I’ve read in the past couple of years (may have been about American blues musicians going to play in England in the 1960s, it may have been something else).
I remember this slithering snake, - - only because he was so PATHETIC. Talk about a smokin’-token. The gates of Hell will clang loud . . .

While I've always harbored nothing but contempt for LeRoi Jones, it's always been puzzling how this human drecht managed to obtain such aura of respectability as a Yale professor.
