Andrew Cuomo: Pro-Life People “Have No Place in the State of New York”
Life News ^ | January 17, 2014 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 01/17/2014 7:36:38 PM PST by NYer

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has already proven himself to be one of the most pro-abortion politicians in the country. He’s repeatedly pushed a bill that would make the state that has some of the highest abortion rates in the nation further down the road of unlimited abortions.

Now, Cuomo has said that pro-life people have no business living in the state. If the governor has any interest in pursuing national office with a potential Democratic presidential campaign, he’s definitely lost the majority of the country that appreciates the right to life of unborn babies.

But maybe Cuomo is doing the rest of the nation a favor. If he alienates enough pro-lifers, who move elsewhere, the state will continue to see its influence wane — as it further loses more Congressional seats to southern and western states as conservative New Yorkers look for more welcoming places to live.

As reported today:

Governor Cuomo is issuing a warning to what he refers to as the more conservative arm of the Republican party – you’re not welcome in the state of New York.

Moderate Republicans, or those most willing to capitulate to Cuomo’s own extreme agenda, still have the welcome mat rolled out.

Here’s Cuomo during a Friday morning conversation on the Capitol Pressroom (H/t Times Union):

You have a schism within the Republican Party. … They’re searching to define their soul, that’s what’s going on. Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.

… You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

If they’re moderate Republicans like in the Senate right now, who control the Senate — moderate Republicans have a place in their state. George Pataki was governor of this state as a moderate Republican; but not what you’re hearing from them on the far right.”

Cuomo has made a career of referring to anyone that opposes his agenda as “extreme” while simultaneously referring to that agenda as “common sense.”

Please notice that it acknowledges the presence of the fire. We do not have to say one single solitary word about the fire in order for it to BE there. Some preachers think they have to put the fire there, rather than pointing out carefully how it already exists. We see the fire in this world every day, burning up hope, burning up joy, burning up love.

And this fire is burning even in this thread, some still in the flesh of Christians who are trying too hard in their flesh.

The grace will itself mirror the fire. Have you ever heard of the kind of mild shame called being sheepish? As the world might put it, it’s the “Wow, I could have had a V-8” moment? (Except they “ought to” have had the V-8.) That is what should result from grace preaching.

I think this is correct, the pressure won’t stop until it has managed to frame the picture the way God wants it to be framed.

I’m saying don’t start singing the blues. Otherwise you may be part of the frame, but you won’t be part of the picture!

Actually, it proves that it IS a problem. His current poll trend downward is just the beginning of his demise, which I personally am convinced is strongly connected with the curse of abortion...and not just his other policies.

I guess we could give that an emphatic maybe.

Barack could go either way, as I see it. He could give in to God, having found his own self is insufficient in the light of what he still can see. Or he could really hug that ole hateful devil clear down to hell. It’s his choice, though. I still see God framing a triumph here. It’s only a matter of who will allow himself or herself to participate in it.

[Have you ever heard of the kind of mild shame called being sheepish?]

Which brings me in thought to the scene where Jesus wrote on the ground and got the crowd of men assembled to stone the adulteress to disperse.

Here is my GUESS as to what He wrote, and the bible doesn’t detail it. But it’s probably something like “Why did you do that to [list of the men’s mistresses]?”

Yes, I was clumsy early in this thread. But God rallied my spirit and forgave my sin, and I am back more closely in the Spirit, I believe.

Actually it could be turned around and viewed as a lament!

Maybe not intended on HIS part, but a “Freudian slip” so to speak that God put in his mouth.

Pro-life people in the state of New York need to regain a place. At once. Starting with the place that is at God’s mercy seat. Is there something they could begin to do that would make an impact to the good?

Here’s an audacious idea for a protest. A really audacious idea. “Dear abortionists and assistants: God loves you. Will you please help stop the killing of these innocents?”

Really audacious, because it lays DOWN the earthly high dudgeon and shows a heart. And after all the high dudgeon didn’t achieve much so why not try something else?

And NY’s breast cancer rates went through the sky ahead of the rest of the country too, IIRC.

Mario’s meathead son just vomited the venom within and the catalyist is fear of losing his ‘pastapower’ in NY that little boy Andy assumed was his.

There has been more than a hint that Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino will run against the punk kid. I believe that popped a few of andy’s vessels that prevented him from exposing his evil self. I’m hoping money will pour in to Rob now if he does run as I heard the evil one has over $30M in his war chest and Rob way way less. Rob just kicked his lying liberal opponent to the curb recently in a landslide victory. The war has begun in NY. If Cuomo loses, he can forget his dream in ‘16 of running for the WH.

I believe the ads are for business and the no taxes apply for only 10 years.

Who is sponsoring the ads? NY/Albany or Westchester County in NY?

One of the fundamental myths that Americans hold is that we’re a ‘majority rules’ nation. We’re not. That’s why we have the Constitution with its Bill of Rights, to prevent tyranny of a majority or even a minority. All this only matters if you have a limited government. If government isn’t limited, then you’ve already destroyed the Constitution and liberty.

Actually, his comments neither surprise me nor offend me; that’s what I would expect from this man and many like him. But the ones who do offend me, and outrageously so, are the bishops––especially, Cardinal Archbishop Timothy Dolan. He is a disgrace to the faithful Catholics, the Church, and to God.

Unfaithful Catholics like Cuomo have always been around and always will be. They are the tools of Satan. But in the past the Church has had strong, faithful Catholics as her leaders. Men who would stand up for the faith and defend it at every turn. Today we are left with weak, Quizling-like caricatures of holy men, instead of strong Christian followers of Christ.

A faithful bishop would give this man 24 hours to hold himself out as a Catholic to the public in every respect, including his personal life and public anti-Catholic pronouncements. His failure to do so would result in immediate excommunication.

Aren’t the Cuomos Catholic? How do they square their dislike of “extremism” with the Pope and the rest of the church, I wonder?
