Arizona State University announced Thursday that it is severing ties with a fraternity after the chapter hosted a distasteful party in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, replete with racist stereotypes and offensive costumes.

The school said in a statement that it has notified Tau Kappa Epsilon its recognition as a fraternity chapter at ASU has been permanently revoked.

Revoking recognition means the 65-year-old local chapter is no longer affiliated with ASU, the group won't be listed on the university's website and it cannot recruit members or hold on-campus meetings. …

The Al Sharpton “mini me” who wants the students expelled, has an interesting record himself for race baiting. Jarrett “Sharpton” was President of the Young Republican Club at Brophy Prep before he alleged racism (kicked out of Brophy Prep for poor grades and transferred to St. Mary’s High School) He is a piece of work and the local media fawns over this jerk. He even has the “Rev accent” down perfectly.

Arrested for false info to FBI regarding past mayor of Phoenix, Phil Gordon. Maupin was running for mayor and Maupin hired felons to circulate petitions, many were invalid signatures. Maupin told the FBI he had evidence of criminal conduct on the part of Mayor Gordon (he had none).

In the early 90s at UVA the Afro frats advertized a step show with fliers depicting a heavily muscled black arm holding the severed head of a white man. They were all over campus and they angered a lot of us. This guy who was some mid level administrator took charge and told the white students to suck it up because we basically deserved it. The fliers stayed up. They eventually made that guy the university president...another reason Mr. Jefferson is spinning in his grave. Around the same time the 1st round of the knockout game started and two of my friends fell victim. That was more than 20 years ago...where and when will it end? Decades of a despicable double standard shoved down the throats of people whose increasingly distant ancestors maybe contributed to an afro-hostile atmosphere (or died fighting against it).

I see that the Rev is all for free speech, except for whites.

What was the name of his church? “The Church of Let’s Get Them Crackers”?

Another Rev. Wright heard from.

Pictures from the party made their way onto social media websites, depicting guests dressed in basketball jerseys, flashing gang signs and holding watermelon-shaped cups

Oh the horror!

Emulation as the greatest form of flattery; drawing the line between emulation and mockery can be fraught with expulsions in today's PC masculine-less post WWII Veteran based society.

Where are the real men?

How many times has this type of thing happened in the past (sorority or fraternity holds such a party and it makes the news)? Quite possibly in the hundreds. You think someone would have thought this was a bad idea.
