Minister of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) is presenting to the government Sunday new statistics on anti-Semitism in Europe—and the results are revealing. […]

An online survey conducted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights revealed that in 2013, 23% of respondents refrained from attending Jewish events or religious services for fear of being attacked on their way there; 38% are afraid to wear religious symbols, like the yarmulke or kippah, in public; and 66% view anti-Semitism as having a major and constant impact on their lives.

Worse, European Jews believe that their governments view anti-Semitism as an inevitable part of life, without a means of escape or treatment, according to the poll. …

They should have thought about that before they let all those Muslims in.

They burn 6 million Jews, then bring in 20 million Muslims.

I am not Jewish.

My boss, however, was Jewish. A very stern, but professional, guy from Israel. 100% an engineer.

I spent more than a fair amount of time in Germany and England with locals who worked for the same company — oilfield.

Anyway, they would routinely go on massive anti-Semitic tirades by whatever the boss did and be offended when I did not join in. And it was not mere bitch-about-your-boss stuff. This was hatred.

Had similar experiences in the Army.

Europe can go to Hell. I went to New Mexico.

I am of the opinion that the general European pop needs a heavy handed culling on a regular basis.

The far left, far right, and far too many Muslims in Europe hate Jews. The EU elite takes a break from condemning Israel to condemning antisemitism only to promote their anti-nationalist agenda and direct any inevitable backlash onto Jews.

I wont speak for Germany, but the vast majority of British people are not anti-Semitic (in fact the UK historically has rejected openly anti-Semitic groups like Mosley’s Blackshirts or the BNP). Also, it is too easy and lazy to equate dislike of Israel with anti-Semitism. They are separate issues.

That said, those UK locals you knew are morons and as a Brit, I apologise for their bigotry.

They are not separate issues. So-called “anti-Zionism” is antisemitic and nothing else, since it means one is against the existence of a Jewish state in the Holy Land. Kurt Waldheim got the UN to declare Zionism “racism” purely out of an antisemitic bent.

No apology to me is necessary.

The locals were nothing but gracious and accepting of me -— to the point they were so comfortable that after a few pints, they readily made comments of the sort I am talking.

But, given this was the oilfield in England, you can guess the geography and peoples (and probably corporation) I was dealing with pretty easily, I suspect. And they are a rough crowd.

That said, a fair number of participants in such conversations were proper, very upper-class, Englishmen. A fair number of “Lords” and “Lady” types. (Titles which we would discover on HR papers and razz them mercilessly -— this being the oilfield.) It was more a “disdain” of the Jews than a “hate” from this group.

The more blue-collar workers had hate.

“Also, it is too easy and lazy to equate dislike of Israel with anti-Semitism. They are separate issues.”

Not really, in that dislike of Israel is illogical and downright silly. I will excuse Israel-haters in that most are victims of BBC propaganda and PC schooling.

But the comments I was talking about was “I hate the damn Jews” type comments. Not the “Israel is an apartied state” stuff one learns from BBC. So, no, I was not confused.

And yet so many conservatives make defense of "European civilization" their very reason for being.

Funny, though (and Providential), how remarkably free of this virus are the descendants of the Europeans who came to what is now the United States of America.

Israel is called an “apartheid state” while it’s the most free state in the region. Plenty of Arab MKs in the Knesset, but Abbas goes around with impunity saying that “Palestine” will be Judenrein.

The USA is supposed to have been a rejection of that Rome-based “civilization” (meaning Roman Empire). A real civilization would not have experienced any “dark ages” or been the cause of two world wars, as well.

I see. The solution to anti-Semitism in Europe is genocide of Europeans, right? Sounds a little like Louis Farrakhan or Malcolm X's proposed "solutions" for white "racism" towards blacks.

Based on the Roman Empire, essentially.

Yes, that’s pretty much my point -— anti-Israel is only logically explained by either bad information or anti-Jew feelings.

He’s just popping off.

The coming native-born Islamic jihad in Europe will teach the Europeans the error of their ways, presumably.

These are quite separate issues.

There have been people with little love for Jewish people and culture (Richard Nixon was a famous case in point) who were strong supporters of Israel. Similarly, there have been many Jews and pro-Jewish individuals who have been critical of Israel.

Equating criticism of Israel (justified or not) with anti-Semitism is like equating criticism of China with hatred for ethnic Chinese.

The definition of Zionism is the idea of having a state for Jews in the land of Israel—and nothing else. So being anti-Zionist cannot be a separate issue from antisemitism, since it is an attack on Jews in their very homeland.

And BTW, “criticism of Israel” (where justified, and I have not seen too many cases where it is) is not the same thing as anti-Zionism, in a pedantic sense that is.

Comparing the state of Israel with Red China is an apples and oranges comparison, never mind an insulting comparison towards Israel. Red China has nothing to do with China’s culture (never mind religion of any stripe), and the current communist state there encompasses many ethnicities, not just the Han people.
