In November of 2013, Russian media reported that U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul would soon resign; McFaul emphatically denied he was going anywhere. Yet today, he announced his resignation. Izvestia and Gazeta.ru reported the news back in November. […]

McFaul is the chief architect of Obama’s “reset” policy with Russia, a policy that diagnosed Vladimir Putin not as a dangerous foe of the U.S. but as a misunderstood statesman who had been alienated by Republican policies inspired by Ronald Reagan. In practice, “reset” was McFaul’s euphemism for appeasement. The results of this policy were completely predictable: sensing weakness, Putin attacked. …

Reagan hasn't been president for 17 years, and yet Obama wants to blame relations with Putin on him and those who thought his policies were right.

I thought my children were very good blamers when they were young, but this guy is the worst adolescent blamer I've ever seen.

And by the way, just what policies related to the U. S. S. R., does Obama think were wrong?

Wikipedia: “McFaul became only the second non-career diplomat in 30 years to be U.S. ambassador to Russia”

Only Obama would think this a job for an amateur LOL!

Obama has to get the thinking bit down, first.

Reagan hasn't been president for 17 years

Even worse: 25 years.

Turns out that Obama is a bigger danger to the USA than Putin.

Crazy world.

Yes it is 25. I dropped a decade and figured it based on 87, when it was actually 89. Oops. Thanks.

Timing seems odd considering the world will be watching the Winter Olympics in Russia in a few days.

Another Obamao hogwash.

US-Russian relations were historically better under Republican administrations.
One can say Reagan presidency was an exception from the Russian perspective but it is objectively wrong.
It was actually Carter who started to back muslim extremists against Russia in stans, it was Clinton who inspired and backed failed social, economic reforms in Russia and backed muslim revolt inside Russia, bombed Russian allies in Europe and it is Obama, attacking religious and cultural values in Russia and it’s economic interests elsewhere nowadays.

Republicans and Russians are vocal opponents against each other, but they are able to communicate and resolve matters in a manner favorable by both parties.

Reagan and Gorby has liberated Europe at the time. Russia has clearly benefited too losing communist power and removing toxic assets in form of a number socialist welfare states. Bush got no opposition and actually a lot of support from Russia in a war on terror etc.

“US-Russian relations were historically better under Republican administrations.”

Reagan stood up to them and wasn’t afraid to walk away from a bad deal. Reagan also wasn’t afraid to walk through Red Square with the Russian leader and show genuine friendship based on respect.

Obama only goes there and acts like a child. And his only agenda is to advocate the spread of homosexuality.

AFAIK, Reagan is the most popular and admired POTUS among Russians. And more popular than Gorbachev. Obama is a subject of racist jokes there. It tells something, isn’t it?

Russia is building a foreign police based upon its own interests coming first. They are not naturally our enemy. The greatest failure of our foreign policy is to do everything we can to continue the cold war, advocate for NATO and the EU expanding.
Russians I know feel like they have undergone deep order changes in their nation since 1991. Every leader here seems stuck in 1981.

And the biggest issue we push is homosexuality and anything the EU wants.

I’d like to think that reasoned people around the planet want pretty much the same thing out of who they respect, despite what the Leftists in the West seem to want.

As for racist jokes, I don’t like to go there even with Obama. I don’t care what his skin color is, the man is just a complete disaster.

If he hates the U.S. this much, he should just get out and leave us in peace. But then that’s not what the Islamic people do if they hate the West is it.

Remember the December after zero was elected the first time?

Putin both gave a speech and wrote a letter in Pravda saying the same thing to America.

He warned us, "Do no go down the road to communism, because that is what destroyed Russia".

I would say that Putin has far more in common with US conservatives, Reaganites, than any of the rats and rinos presently infesting Washington.
