Reminds of one of the people in the Billy Sol Estes case in the 60s who shot himself multiple times with a bolt action rifle
Billy Sol Estes-—haven’t heard that name in years.

.
A single-shot, bolt-action rifle it was...
I remember those Billy Sol Estes days! The person who committed “suicide” used a .22 rifle. A photo of how he MUST have done it showed a person holding a rifle barrel with one hand, pointed at his own belly and the other on the trigger.
Estes also alleged in the 1980s that he had inside knowledge that Johnson was involved in the assassination of Kennedy.[10][11] In 1984, he provided a voluntary statement to a Grand Jury in Texas alleging that the homicide of a key investigator in the Department of Agriculture case was perpetrated by an aide to Johnson, Malcolm Wallace, upon orders from the then-Vice President.[4] When the Department of Justice asked for more information, Estes responded that he would provide information on eight other murders ordered by Johnson, including the assassination of Kennedy, in exchange for immunity from prosecution and a pardon.[4] According to Estes, Johnson set up the assassination in order to become president.[4] They refused. I'm reminded of the 2 Arkansas State Troopers who killed themselves in cemeteries who shot themselves in the back of the head with shotguns. Both had been Governor Clinton bodyguards.
No signs of foul play were discovered.
