Iranian naval fleets were on their way across the Atlantic Ocean and headed toward the US, the Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

“Iran’s military fleet is approaching the United States’ maritime borders, and this move has a message,” Adm. Afshin Rezayee Haddad of Iran’s Northern Navy Fleet was quoted as saying.

Their intentions are fairly easy to read considering the fact that their “flotilla” is a single warship along with an oiler (from what I understand), and the fact that they announced it well ahead of time.

To consider this a crisis is ludicrous.

People will stop laughing when the Iranian Navy hooks tactical nukes onto a squadron of drones and flies them into downtown Washington D.C.

I predict that absolutely nothing will happen - this time. The Iranian ships will come as close to our coastline as they can, while still staying in international waters, and then go home. They'll do the same thing again several more times, with the Obama administration dismissing it as "meaningless posturing" by the Iranians, nothing to worry about. Then the ships will come again, this time armed with missiles, drones, etc., and launch a deadly attack against targets on the East Coast.

Honestly, how many Freepers run around proclaiming the sky is falling over insignificant events such as this?

Of course the commies are more rational than the Persians, but even the Persians have the desire to perpetuate their kind, and that is far from a given once a nuclear war begins.

Considering the fact that we park our naval forces off the maritime coasts of other countries all over the world for many reasons, how can we possibly object if we're not in the middle of a war with the adversary?

In any case, again, I will continue to stress that the Iranians are to be ridiculed for their display (at this time). However, it should be an eye opener to our government that it is probably time to put Iran in its place before it becomes a true nuclear power, and that eventuality is not far out. I expect any time now we'll hear of a detected nuclear detonation in Iran and that quite possibly could be the beginning of the end.

If they’re stupid enough to engage a U.S. Navy vessel...

When the IRS was stupid enough to target people based on their political beliefs - - tea party members - democrats had the IRS 'investigated' by the same folks who had found that a film director caused Benghazi...

The 'investigation' showed nothing.

What would happen if Iranians fired on a US vessel and Obama told our navy NOT to fire back?

Really. My guess is NOTHING.

Just like Benghazi. Just like conservatives being targeted by the IRS. Nothing would happen. The press would cover it up and call anyone who objected an 'extremist'... and the discussion would go back to 'immigration'.

They have plenty of time to get here — Zero, Plugs, and Lurch at the gang will be signing the surrender papers on the deck of the Iranian flagship on either Memorial Day or July 4th.

Thanks arthurus.

I dunno, use an AWACS to shut down their ECMs, and then send in four F-18’s 50 feet off the deck to blast them with a payload of thousands of Mohammed cartoons...

Good one Talisker...

Here's what a typical Iranian ship looked like after they tangled with the US Navy in their own backyard:

This is what happens when a weak, cowardly, stupid community organizer occupies the white house. Our enemies know he has no balls.

Wait. Valerie Jarrett was a community organizer?

Oh. You mean the other guy.

Oh my God we’re worried about two rubber dingies from Iran carrying nukes when our southern border has been wide open forever?

Are you implying that Iran is sending this “Fleet” over to initiate a sneak attack? While announcing it to the world?

Really?

“we’re not getting enough target practice?”
You are an arrogant american.
We can not shoot down the super sonic cruise missles that Iran may or may not have courtesy of china or russia.
Having a nuke for a warhead would be castastrophic.

I certainly hope you are not a man. Geez, get a backbone.
