Can George P. Bush trade on his name and ethnicity?
Voxxi News ^ | 1/14/14 | Tony Castro

“P! P! P! Over here, P! Throw it here!”

The adolescent voices were shrill and insistent, like those of any group of teenage boys playing in front yards. And about the only word that was clearly identifiable was the same consonant that kept repeating and echoing in the predominantly Latino neighborhood in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles.

“P! P! P!”

P was a tall, dark, gangly youth who was throwing passes to a group of Hispanic boys over whom he towered not so much in height as in sheer charisma, seeming dripping from his face in the hot sun along with drops of perspiration.

It was natural for anyone who saw him to ask who he was, and most might not have believed hearing that he was the grandson of the most recently retired president of the United States, George H.W. Bush.

Even then, George Prescott Bush was a natural leader, dark eyes staring out from a deep palomino tan that seemed to glow as if he were a celebrity who belonged in Hollywood on the other side of Southern California.

“If any Bush is ever elected president again, it will be P,” political consultant Bill Orozco, a friend of the family whom the Bush family was visiting remarked that afternoon to acquaintances watching the kids play.

Of course, no one had foreseen P’s uncle, George W. Bush, upsetting the political applecart and seemingly out of nowhere being elected president in 2000.

And at the time, young P Bush – he didn’t use a period after P at the time — had already had his baptism into politics, by fire, as it were.

at this point, i’d think the name Bush would be more of a liability than an asset.

This is some bodice ripping journalism. Ooooo, Prescott, you're so dreamy.

Pee is an unqualified carpetbagger from FL, supported by the Bush machine's millions, trying to establish himself as the "next Bush".

Support David Watts for TX Land Commissioner.

George P may or may not be a good choice in the future.

I am willing to hear more from him.

Keep talking George P.

And do not even speak the word “amnesty”. Do not go there. You might be aok and might be a good leader.

But don’t sell-out America.

Even Barbara Bush has had enough of the Bush Family in public office. I agree with her, 100%.

Not with me.

Mama Bush's snob trashing of Sarah Palin and her enthusiasm for Bill Clinton; George H.W.'s globalism leanings and the whole "we're good ole compatriots from the Ivy League and therefore entitled to lead" scenario, turns me completely off.

Of them all, George W. seems the most down to earth and I think revered the office and loves the military, but even he did not seem to understand the difference between TX Dems and the progressive commies in charge of the party nationally. These people are rabid and are on duty to promote their agenda 24/7.

I really don’t have a problem with him running for this office. The only thing I don’t want him to do is run for President or Vice President. He can run for the state offices if he choses. I don’t see why people are upset about this insignificant election.

I just went to the linked article and read the original NY Times link.

I still don’t know that George P is in favor of undermining American immigration fairness.

I don’t oppose immigration. I don’t oppose immigrants becoming citizens.

I do oppose dropping a bunch of otherwise unqualified immigrants into the US population and making them citizens.

I will reserve my opinion for now.

George P could be a middle point and very good for the GOP.

Or he could be a total sell-out.

I do not yet have a firm opinion, one way or the other. I remain in data collection mode.

I’m done with the Democrat Media, pundits, blogs, and even the GOP picking my candidate for me. NO, NO, NO!

I’ll write in my candidate if need be, but it won’t be for a Bush, or a Christie, or whatever other RINO they dig up.
