I believe she was a conservative.
I think she was too. She was raised very well by her Mother. I don’t remember her twerking or dropping acid like many in today’s Hollywood need to do to get attention. I think her gift of acting was enough to get her attention which is really nice.
“Most entertainers who make it big early have no class (Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc.) Shirley Temple had class.”
Well it comes down to two different things.... One our society was much different back then, and two it’s because of her upbringing.
Miley doesn’t have class ? Of course she does. She has “class” tattooed right under her left boob.
I knew Shirley Temple before she was Black.
Very sad news to me. God bless ya, Shirley... you were a bright star in the American sky for a long time.
A good, decent person, and we’ve lost another piece of our past.
One of my favorite movies with her, still, is “Fort Apache”.
Also, “The Littlest Rebel”.

(Sure to make Libs’ heads explode...)
Rest in peace, and God speed you home.
I don’t know if that is the site or not, but there is a HOAX site that takes every celeb death notice and proclaims it to be a hoax.
Whatever scam it takes to drive click throughs I guess.
RIP
Thanks for the info!!!
I was born in 1932.
I had Shirley Temple dolls, paper dolls, books, and I even had a Shirley Temple cup.
RIP,Shirley
.
did not have multiple marriages
Well actually she did.
The big studios still go under occasionally but they are largely protected from bankruptcy now that they have 80 years of talkies they can sell on home video, pay tv, etc. Films that would've lapsed into the public domain 26-51 years after creation, until Big Media protected their assets by lobbying Congress (in the name of the stars of those old old films who don't receive a dime from them). Copyright was even retroactively restored to It's A Wonderful Life after decades of public domain status.
Hollyweird can make all the gay rom-coms they want, all of the Bush=hitler films they want, and whatever socialist liberal clap trap they can muster and not be accountable to the bottom line. Their bread and butter comes from films that don't lapse into public domain until decades from now (100+ years and likely to be extended again).
I must admit, as a kid I hated Shirley Temple, because my older sister would always want to watch every Shirley Temple movie that came on TV, and I wanted to watch cartoons.
“Shirley Temple had class.”
AMEN. A trait lost on the the current Hollywood cretins.
I’m waiting to hear from Dr Schrödinger before I mourn her.
What a shame. Great lady from beginning to end. Cute little girl superstar, classy mature woman who fought breast cancer in a “medieval” age, great conservative ambassador.
What a life!
You will be missed! God bless.
People were expected to have class back then.
Not anymore. *sigh*
I fear for this country when my parents’ generation completely leaves.
I don’t know, since she was Fox. Possible, but Turner was always in possession of the MGM library, with only occasional strays into other studios.
I would look for AMC, even though they aren’t what they first were.
Only 2. Not bad for this modern age, or even for Hollywood back then.
A natural mistake I might have made. Of course, Ambassador Black definitely appeared with Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and Rudy Vallée in The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer, but wasn't among the luminaries in the excellent, even historic The Best Years of our Lives.
Here in the endless period of self-congratulatory circle-jerking known to some as "Oscar Season," it's notable that the Ambassador never received an Oscar, placing her on an equal footing with some of the greatest talents ever to appear on screen.
May she rest in peace.
Born in 1961 here, but I remember Saturday afternoon movies on the black and white Motorola TV and seeing her.
She was a sweet little kid actor, grew up into a beautiful young lady, and was as American iconic as you could get.
Like The Three Stooges, Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, all those great old movies... Americana.
Ghosts of Days Gone By... still here with us.
