“Progressive” means movement - progress. The goal of this movement is totalitarian collectivism.

It’s like calling a group a “Going” movement, and its members “Goings” - and yet, few ask WHERE these people want to “go.”

And what they say, is that they want to go “to a better place.”

And they talk about happiness, and freedom, and love, and beauty, all while tying you up and fastening a target on your chest while they line up in front of you with rifles.

And as you hear “ready, aim...” they whisper in your ear, “now you’re going to go to a better place...”

Progressivism: The greatest source of death and terror in the 20th century.

The 21st century is just beginning. Maybe the communists of the world will try to outdo themselves this century, and raise the body count even more. I still think they need a successful gun grab, before they can do it in America, but that is coming too. It could be where the scum bags of the world, try to program the people to hate their own rights, so some willingly give up their rights. Some day, someone will think they have had enough, and will have a Michael Douglas/falling down moment, and the commies will have their Reichstag fire.

People who believe in the Constitution believe in progress - the Constitution explicitly allows for the granting and enforcement of patents “To promote the progress of science and useful arts.” PR men promote products as being, “NEW!”

But “progressives” do not believe in that kind of progress, but in “progress” toward tyranny.

A quibble:

Barack Obama, who takes pride in the term “progressive,” couldn’t even bring himself to oppose laws against infanticide as a state senator in Illinois.

Obama did oppose laws against infanticide, several times.

Communism, Socialism, Bolshevism, Fascism have all fallen out of fashion, replaced by “Progressivism”. The distinction is superficial, they are all the same ice cream, just a different assortment of nuts sprinkled in.

The terms "progressive" and "reactionary" imply a teleological "flow" to history--a flow that simply cannot exist if the universe truly is just a random, meaningless coincidence.

Yet somehow the meaninglessness inculcated by scientism is being treated as a basis for totalitarian altruism and idealism. Only sexual taboos have collapsed, while the "golden rule" (a purely rational morality) has assumed dictatorial proportions.
