I disagree that Oliver Stone is of the same ilk as the far left. He left Yale to serve in VietNam, so having seen both sides he came by his distaste of war honestly. His movie Born on the Forth of July is a sensitive and heartfelt portrayal of the plight of many VN veterans.

There have been situations in the past in which Stone was not in lockstep with the left; I don't recall what they were at this point. I take him to be a man who thinks for himself, even though I don't always agree with his viewpoints.
